Working Party Chemical Nanotechnology
Objectives
The working party on "Chemical Nanotechnology" is an interdisciplinary discussion group. Experts from industry and academia report and discuss recent developments in the field. Meetings of this working group are not open for public and will usually be held annually. Chairman of the working party is Dr. R. Iden (BASF AG, Ludwigshafen) (as of May 2004).
Identification of new research topics and recommendation of supporting actions to enhance research and development in chemical nanotechnology are aims of this working party. Recommendations are implemented by the members of the working party themselves or addressed to adequate funding organisations. Further aims are networking and improvement of interdisciplinary contacts in and between industry and academia.
The "Chemical Nanotechnology "working party – CNT” is organising the "Chemical Nanotechnology Talks". CNT is an event where actual trends in this field are reported and first examples of applications are shown up by international experts.
As a result of the discussions within the working party a new working group was founded. This group covers activities on "Responsible Production and Use of Nanomaterials" and is chaired by Dr. M. Pridoehl, DEGUSSA AG.
