With new, record-breaking figures of 505 exhibitors from 27 different countries, 8,800 sqm of net exhibition area over five halls and a top-level international congress the 7th AchemAsia from 14 to 18 May 2007 in Beijing/PR China promises to break all previous records. The international character of AchemAsia - International Exhibition Congress on Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology tops all comparable events in Asia and has made it the leading event for the process industries in China and the Asian region. Over 20,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The target groups are all branches supplying or applying equipment, technologies, complete solutions and know-how for the chemical and petrochemical industries, pharma and food industries, biotechnology, environmental protection and related sectors of the process industries.
The majority of exhibitors are Chinese companies (239 exhibitors), followed by Germany (131), Great Britain (20), the USA (20), France (18) and Italy (12). Numerous international companies with joint ventures or subsidiaries (wholly foreign owned enterprices) based in China now present themselves as Chinese companies.
More than ever before China has become a global hot spot for the chemical process industry. With annual growth rates significantly exceeding 10% this sector occupies a key position in the country’s value-added chain. Biotechnological equipment is also set to become a driver of the Chinese economy. As Professor Gerhard Kreysa, Chief Executive of the organizer, DECHEMA (Society for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology), puts it: “Viewed in this context, our long-term commitment in China is paying off. The organization of AchemAsia since 1989, based on the tried-and-tested concept of ACHEMA in Frankfurt am Main, provides an ideal platform for the international equipment branches to forge and consolidate contacts in the rapidly developing Chinese economic region”.
