Winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in
Process Intensification 2009

  

Dr.-Ing. Carsten Buchaly, Germany

is the winner of the EFCE Excellence Award in Process Intensification 2009

His PhD thesis on

 " Experimental Investigation, Analysis and Optimisation of Hybrid Separation Processes "

completed at the Technische Universität Dortmund under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. Andrzej Górak, Faculty of Biochemical and Chemical Engineering, TU Dortmund, Germany, received the best evaluation results in terms of innovativeness, breadth and depth of the study, quality of publications, and its industrial relevance.

Carsten Buchaly received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Chemical Engineering and the Dr.-Ing. degree in Chemical Engineering from the Technische Universität Dortmund. Currently, he is active as a process engineer in the Department of Process Design at Bayer Technology Services (BTS), Leverkusen. His work at BTS is focussed on the conceptual process design of base and fine chemicals.

The award was presented on 17 June 2009 during a special session of the GPE-EPIC 2009, held in Venice, Italy, from 14 to 17 June 2009.
