Dieter Behrens Medal

             
In 1998, the European Federation of Chemical Engineering introduced the Dieter Behrens Medal. The Medal was presented together with the Jacques Villermaux Medal for the first time in October 1999, on the occasion of the 2nd European Congress of Chemical Engineering (ECCE-2) in Montpellier, France.

The Dieter Behrens Medal is presented every four years
"in recognition of work on behalf of the Federation in raising the profile of chemical engineering in Europe or in relation to the organisation, management or development of EFCE's activity base."

The previous winners of the Dieter Behrens Medal are: 

  • 1999    -    Dr. Jan Novosad , Czech Republic
  • 2001    -    Prof. Bernhard Delmon , Belgium
  • 2005    -    Prof. dr.ir. Hans J. Pasman , The Netherlands

Dr.-Ing. Martin Molzahn, Germany,
is the laureate of the Dieter Behrens Medal 2010.

He has been chosen for the award in recognition of his his commited leadership of the EFCE Working Party on Education and its initiatives concerning the Bologna Process, the EFCE Student Mobility Award and his invaluable contributions to chemical engineering education across Europe.

The award will be presented at the festive congress opening of ECCE-7/CHISA 2010 in Prague, Czech Republic, on 28 August 2010.
